Since the government announced the closure of schools and businesses across Ireland amid the Covid-19 pandemic, one essential service you engage with may have taken a devastating hit - your therapy session.
When I first set out to find a therapist, I didn't even consider using a virtual service, mainly because I didn't know such thing existed in Ireland. I was done with the HSE's management of my illness and wanted to find something both accessible and affordable. Since I've been able to engage with a psychotherapist online from the comfort of my own home, I've had some of the best progress with my mental health.
It's easy to pick a time and date that suits, and for someone with chronic pain it's a really great way to look after physical and mental health even when you can't leave the house.
So whether you're unable to attend your therapy session in person, or you just need some extra supports at the moment, here are some services you can engage with from the safety of your home amid the Covid-19 outbreak.
