Ellen Coyne announces debut book

The award-winning Journalist has worked for top publications across the country

Ellen Coyne has announced her debut book.

The award-winning Journalist has written for top publications across Ireland including The Irish Independent, The Times and Joe.ie.

In her very first work, Are You There God? It's Me, Ellen, the investigative writer explores her grapple with her Catholic faith as a young, progressive woman.

It all began in 2018 when she was celebrating the historic repeal of the eight amendment, which would allow for abortion in Ireland under certain circumstances.

Ellen suddenly found herself questioning if she was ready for the idea that Ireland may no longer be a Catholic country.

As someone who left the Catholic Church a long time ago, she never stopped believing in, or talking to God.

In this biographical book, she examines her conscience and wonders if she can really be an ally to an institution she doesn't entirely agree with, and questions if returning to the Church is the right thing to do.

Are You There God? It's Me, Ellen, published by Gill Books, is out on October 30th.
