Jean Eagers husband charged with her murder
The 57-year-old died following an attack on June 21st.
Jean Eagers husband has been charged with her murder, following his arrest at the scene the crime.
William Eagers was remanded in custody under Section four of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984, where Judge Michael Walsh ruled that he was to receive medical attention and supervision.
After spending nine days in hospital, questioning resumed where he was charged with her murder yesterday afternoon ahead of an evening sitting at Dublin District Court.
Mr Eagers did not enter a plea and made no reply when the charges were presented to him.
The 57-year-old mother was killed at her home in Willow Wood Grove in Hartstown, on the morning of June 21st.
A family member is believed to have witnessed part of the incident before rushing to a neighbours house to alert authorities.
At 11.30am Gardaí arrived on scene where they forced their way into the home following a stand off.
She was was treated at the scene by emergency services but was pronounced dead a short time later.
It is believed that a Samurai sword and other weapons were used during the attack. Jean Eagers, who worked in Marks and Spencer in the Blanchardstown Centre was laid to rest on SMen's Aid - 01 554 3811
