Mindy Kaling's hit Netflix series Never Have I Ever renewed for second season
The show has received wide praise for its diverse representation.
Mindy Kaling's hit Netflix show, Never Have I Ever, has been renewed for a second series.
The coming-of-age comedy is loosely based on the producer's childhood growing up in Boston.
Following 15-year-old, Devi Vishwakumar (Maitreyi Ramakrishnan), the series explores her Indian identity, sex, relationships and grief.
After the death of her father, the teen temporarily loses the ability to use her legs, which according to her, does not bode well for her popularity at school.
Deciding that she wants to boost her social status, Devi enlists the help of her two best friends Eleanor (Ramona Young) and Fabiola (Lee Rodriguez), and makes it her mission to have sex with her crush Paxton (Darren Barnet).
Never Have I Ever has been widely praised for representation and diversity across the cast.
Mindy Kaling, star of The Office, who created and produces the show, put out an open casting call for the programme, which received over 15,000 responses.
The first season landed on Netflix on April 27th, with no date currently set for season two.
