This Irish brand have made our sustainable size-inclusive underwear dreams come true

Their products are gorgeous too!

When it comes to shopping fashion sustainably, for plus-sized people it can be a challenge.

Second-hand and vintage sizing are often inaccessible meaning that fast fashion is the only option on the table for people above a size 16.

Those who have ditched fast fashion still tend to purchase brand new bras and underwear for hygiene purposes, but for the most part plus-size people are still not catered for.

That's where Sewing Wild Seams come in. This Irish handmade underwear brand are perfect as all of their garments are size inclusive and tailor made to fit your body.

Created by Lyndsay Kennedy from County Tipperary, Sewing Wild Seams first entered the market in 2019.

She started sewing in 2018, first learning to make a skirt, before venturing into underwear, and she hasn't stopped since.

"I wanted to create a line of underwear, that when you put it on just makes you feel good," the mother of three told EMPWR.

"Everyone deserves that feeling, I had been looking for it myself for a long time,"

Sewing Wild Seams sell bralettes and knickers in a variety of colours and patterns. You can also get an extra high waist for added comfort.

"Being size inclusive, along with being sustainable and affordable, is one of the most important aspects to what I do," she said, and to Lyndsay it's worth it.

"I could never imagine running my business in any other way."

"Yes, it might be more work and cost slightly more for me to operate... But this is the work that must be done, and it is undoubtedly, important and necessary work," she said.
